Good afternoon,

The staff of Clear Lake Intermediate is so proud of the 8th grade class of 2020. We would like to honor them with a parade on Tuesday, May 26th from 6-7pm. Teachers and staff will be positioned to cheer on the parade of cars circling through the parking lot in the back of the school.

Please drive into the parking lot from El Dorado and circle the outer edge and exit back on to El Dorado. Students can wave farewell to the teachers, administrators, staff, and school from the vehicle. Decorations are optional. Please do not stop to take pictures or gather with friends.

Transitioning into high school is worth celebrating. Congratulations, students, parents, and guardians!

We had a very successful turnout for our first two days of locker clean out/equipment and book return last week. However, we know there are many students who were not able to complete those tasks. If you attended that locker clean out event, please disregard this email. For all other students, we will be holding a make-up day on Tuesday, May 26th, from 8 AM – 4 PM. There is a link below to sign up for a time slot that works for you. After your appointment time has been reserved, you will receive an email reminder. Please make sure to enter an email address that you check regularly.

During this time, students should complete these tasks, as needed:

• Clean out locker (PE and school locker)
• Retrieve notebooks, projects, and belongings from teacher’s classrooms (outside their doors)
• Turn in any equipment and uniforms
• Turn in any library books and books borrowed from teacher’s classrooms

Student laptops will not be collected at this time. Students planning on continued CCISD enrollment for the next school year will keep their laptops during the summer break.

Please note:

• Students will be scheduled in 15-minute increments with no more than 30 students in the building at one time. It is very important that students practice social distancing, stay home if anyone in your household is sick with COVID-19 symptoms, and self-check before entering the building. They will not be allowed to congregate or interact with other students during this time. They are to turn in materials, clean out lockers, and retrieve personal belongings only.
• To help protect our students and staff, we request that only students enter the building to drop off and pick up personal/school items. Staff will be on hand to guide and help our students.
• If you must accompany your student, only one adult per student will be allowed and you must check in with our staff upon entering the building.
• We ask that you park in the back parking lot, have your student enter the hallway on the east entrance along the breezeway, and they will check in when they enter the commons. Nobody will be allowed any time other than their scheduled appointment. They will exit the same way they came in.
• We ask that students wear some form of face covering while they are in the building. We will also have hand sanitizer for their use. If you would like them to wear gloves, please provide them upon their arrival. While these items are encouraged, they are not required.
• Students will drop off materials, uniforms, instruments, etc. in marked locations to minimize contact with others. Further instructions from each activity or department can be found below.

Self-Screening Questionnaire & Procedures

In accordance with CDC/Texas Department State Health Services, all students, parents, and staff must adhere to specific minimum recommended health protocols upon entering any CCISD campus. The protocols that must be followed, as set forth by the Governor Abbott's Executive Order, are attached. For the safety of everybody, we thank you for carefully reading and adhering to the elements within this attachment.

In addition, we encourage those who are unable to participate, uncomfortable participating, and/or at a higher risk of severe illness or caring for someone at a higher risk (such as those listed HERE) to contact me at 281-284-3200 for alternate arrangements.

Moving?

Have you moved or do you plan on moving during the summer? Please contact Carol Collins, our campus registrar, at ccollins@ccisd.net, if your student does not plan to attend Clear Lake Intermediate for the 2020-2021 school year. Mrs. Collins will contact you regarding the withdrawal process.

Eighth grade parents who have moved or plan on moving during the summer need to send Mrs. Collins a current proof of residence, lease, mortgage statement or utility (gas, water, electric). This will help us get your student’s cumulative folder to the proper campus once this school year has ended.
