Eagle Families, It’s hard to begin writing after all the devastation that we all endured and/or witnessed over the last week. It was one of the worst disasters to ever hit our country and yet, it was also one of the most uplifting experiences we have ever witnessed as well. When you see neighbors helping neighbors, strangers sacrificing their safety for the safety of others, it truly is a beautiful sight. It will be a long road as our community begins to recover and heal, and the needs will be plentiful and ongoing. There have been both Eagle staff and Eagle families that have been impacted by the storm and need our help, along with many other staff and families within CCISD. The CCCC (Clear Creek Community Council) of PTA’s are going to partner with each of the campuses and adopt their school to help with some of those needs. We have decided the best way to do this is to gather gift card donations from our community and get them to those in need within our own school family. We are asking for gift cards to places such as HEB, Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc. to help meet some of their basic needs. If you would like to donate any gift cards, you may either contact me directly at L.johnson11@gmail.com or you may drop them off at our campus starting September 7th when the staff reports back to school. This is a small but tangible way we can begin to help our community recover. Please know if you wish to donate directly to CCISD you may still do that through CCISD Cares @ www.ccisd.net/ccisdcares. Lastly, please note that Texas PTA is donating 100% of your local membership dues from now through September 30th if you join the Statewide PTA. Go to www.joinpta.org and select Statewide PTA for the district and the only option would be Lone Star Statewide PTA. We would also love for you to join our local PTA as well to help support our mission of supporting our students, staff and community at our campus. Just choose Clear Creek District and then choose CLIS. Thank you so much and we look forward to working alongside each and every one of you to ensure we have a great year at CLIS. Go Eagles! Eagle Family, Report cards were made available in early June through Skyward Family Access. The report card format has triggered a few phone calls so this is sent in hopes that a little clarification will help everyone better understand the information on the report card. The credit column only applies to high school courses.  There is no "credit" awarded for intermediate school courses.  The "credits" are only referring to high school level courses that would transfer to a high school transcript. The column to the far right labeled "FIN" is your student's final grade for each course.  If the class is a year-long class, the 1st semester grade (SM1) and the 2nd semester grade (SM2) are averaged for a final grade.  All final grades 70 and above are passing grades.   Important Back-to-School Information CCISD is again requiring online Back-to-School forms for the 2017-2018 school year.  Access begins on August 1st.  These forms will be available through Skyward Family Access.  These online forms must be completed for EACH student.  A current proof of residency will need to be provided to the campus after August 7th.   We will accept the new proof of residency ( a copy of a current electric bill, or water utility bill) and any updated shot records during the 8:15am - 4:15pm work day beginning August 7th, during EAGLE SIGN-IN on August 15 from 2:30-6:30pm, and during New Student and Sixth Grade Orientation on August 17th at 6pm.  There will be staff and computers available to help with the online forms during the EAGLE SIGN-IN session and during New student and 6th grade Orientation. Save the Date EAGLE SIGN-IN - August 15 - 2:30-6:30pm - 7th and 8th graders may come "sign-in" and pick up a draft copy of their schedule provided Back-to-School forms have been completed online and proof of residency is turned in.  Please also bring any updates to immunization records. New Student and 6th grade orientation - August 17 - 6:00pm - Students new to CLIS and incoming 6th graders are welcome to come for a very brief meeting and schedule pick-up.  Students will be allowed time to walk their schedule and try-out their lockers. PTA usually has an information table and PE uniforms are usually available for purchase.  This is not a meet-the-teacher time or an open house. Open House - September 11 - 6:30pm - Open house kicks off with a brief meeting in the commons followed by the parents following their student's schedule for 10 minute class periods.   The CLIS office is closed for the summer.  We will be checking messages from time to time so feel free to leave your question at 281-284-3200.  The office will re-open on August 7th, 2017.   Enjoy the rest of your summer, CLIS Eagle Staff
